Join Renee as she guides us step-by-step into the creation of our own unique heart painting, based on the colorful and captivating heart art of Jim Dine. You will receive a blank canvas, create a palate of paint, and then decide on your personal aesthetic (how many hearts will you paint?). This class is sure to captivate, as you learn how to bring a simple and universal symbol to life through your lens of creativity. You will walk out with a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, ready for framing and display in your home or maybe as a gift for somebody special!

Bring a friend, a bottle of wine, and a free spirit! This is a beginning painter's level class--all are welcome and no prior knowledge/experience required, however, the class will be limited to 12 participants.

“Jim Dine (born June 16, 1935) is an American pop artist. He first earned respect in the art world with his Happenings. Pioneered with artists Claes Oldenburg and Allan Kaprow, in conjunction with musician John Cage, the “Happenings” were chaotic performance art that was a stark contrast with the more somber mood of the expressionists popular in the New York art world.
Local/Regional tie in:
In 1984 the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, exhibited his work as “Jim Dine: Five Themes”. 1987 saw the publication of the book Jim Dine: Drawings 1973 - 1987, to coincide with a touring exhibition. In 1989 the Minneapolis Institute of Arts hosted Jim Dine Drawings: 1973-1987.”
