The Spring Grove Police Department provides law enforcement services to the community.   We serve a population of 1330 residents and have a coverage area of approximately 1.5 square miles.  The police department receives emergency calls through the dispatch center at the Houston County Sheriff's Office, located in Caledonia, MN.  

The police department is involved in and sponsors many events such as, National Night Out, DARE, and are involved in many non law enforcement activities in the community. 

The Police Department also features the "Spring Grove Police Department Reserve Unit."  Which is a volunteer organization of civilians that assist with functions of the police department.  Please look at the link for the reserve unit for more information and if interested in joining, fill out the on-line application or contact the police department.

ANNUAL REPORTS

Paul Folz
Chief of Police

Chief Folz has been a police officer since 1981.  He was born and educated in Minnesota and moved to the State of North Dakota where he started his law enforcement career.   He was a law enforcement officer in the State of North Dakota for 12 years before moving back to Minnesota.  Chief Folz is a active member of the Spring Grove Ambulance Service as an "EMT" and is a active member of the Spring Grove Fire Department.   Chief Folz also has served as President and Vice President of the Syttende Mai Committee, which is the city's annual celebration.

Jose Martinez
Police Officer

Jose served as a military police officer during his military serve before coming to the Spring Grove Police Department.   In October of 2018 Jose started with the Police Department as a part time officer.  In August of 2019 he was promoted to a full time officer.

Nicholas Bruns
Police Officer

Nicholas started his position with the police department in May of 2021.  He started as a part-time officer and as of July 1, 2021 was promoted to full-time with Spring Grove Police Department

Stephanie Jaster
Administrative Assistant

Stephanie joined the department in the fall of 2013.  She is the person who runs the office when the rest of the department is lost.  Stephanie likes to type, she comes with previous expirience in the typing field since she spent a portion of her career at Mayo Clinic in Rochester as a transcriptionist.
